WebPlus X5: Best way to add page navigator

I am very new to web creating. I have WebPlus x5. I will have multiple product pages show items for sale. I want to know the best way to create and insert a way to get from page to page.

something like :

<< 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 >>

do I just make each one individually and hyperlink it?

WebPlus X5: Panel Edges

I am trying out an effect that involves having a panel with a gradient transparency.

The theory is, that I put a fixed panel at the bottom of the page, with the colour at the bottom, gradiating to transparent at the top, which gives the impression of 'fading text' towards the bottom of the page.

It works fine, except for one thing - where the panel is fully transparent at the top, there is a visible line where the panel ends. Is there a simple setting to remove the panel's outer edge lines?

WebPlus X6: Not Uploading Website

Hi,

I have been using this website a lot recently and your posts have all been very useful - thank you.

However, I have reached a snag. My site is not uploading. My host is LCN.com and (with the help of this forum) I have managed to enter the correct ftp info and it has passed the "test".

I click on "publish" and the "uploading files" window opens, but no progress is being made.

I have now downloaded the update, but still the site does not upload. Am I being impatient? How long should it take for the green bar to progress?

WebPlus X6: Forms: File Browser Upload - SWR file size limit?

Hi everyone!

I would like to use a WP form "file browser" item on a website page. I would prefer to use Serif Web Resources to transfer the files (photo image files) to make it seamless for my users. No issue here at all except...

I do know that the form item itself doesn't care... but, *** is there a file-size cap *** imposed by Serif Web Resources? In other words, does SWR refuse to process a file above some particular file-size? Remember that I am, with this File Browser form item, requesting upload of an image file (JPG, PNG, etc.). These could be several MB in size given what comes out of digital cameras these days!

I don't want to put this in place, only to find out that SWR refuses image file sizes above some certain file size limit.

(I am not going to worry in this question about limits on a particular person's email client. I want to know ONLY if SWR has a limit on file size.)

Can anyone shed some informed light on this question for me? As always... you're great folks with great knowledge! <smile> Thanks so much. :)

WebPlus X5: How do you stop tables from overlapping HTML frames?

I have an HTML frame and a table.

In design mode it looks fine. However, when I publish it the table overlaps the contents in the frame. When you zoom in and out, this overlap becomes worse or slightly better respectively.

A similar issue is that even though the frames are the proper size to fit all the text in design mode. When published, it often cuts out a couple of sentences in the end unless I leave a lot of blank space in the frame at the end. Also, the frames/text often overlap the bottom of the page/footer, when on design mode it shows up normally.

Any ideas how to fix this? I really don't want this to be an issue whenever viewing the site on a different browser or zoom in/out. Why can't they just be fixed instead of seemingly floating around the page?

WebPlus X6: index.html disappears after upload

Hi Guys,

I have been using Serif products for two years but never had any major issues. However, since last Wednesday I have been struggling with my website, getting various errors, including "HTTP 404", "forbidden, you do not have permission to access this site". When uploading the site file, everything seems perfect and running but an hour or two later the index.html just disappears. I have contacted my webhost service provider but they said that this is not "their problem" and are of opinion that this is rather an issue with the website file. Could you please advise what causes the conflict or why the index.html disappears? Any ideas, suggestions.

Embedded files missing

Hi, i'm now getting embedded files missing error,

strangly these are on G drive, which is a pen drive i've used ages ago, all the files are now on F drive, but it still errors trying to find this G drive.

my big plan was to clear all the files from the embedded area withing the maintain site area,

if i delete the entire content then re upload will this cure my errors ?

is it simply a matter of delete all ?

I have 2 buttons (or whatever similar) on a page.
When either is clicked, more buttons would appear whch would then be hyperlinked to a site page

Example:

LUNCH
A la Carte
Snacks
Set menu


DINNER
.........
.........



I tried using a new masterpage with its own new toolbar, but with no success

Any suggestion would be appreciated

WebPlus X5: Tips on adding newsletter

I have produced a newsletter in Serif PagePlus X6 and now wish to place in on my web site using WebPlus X5. My first attempts using a pdf version look "lossy". I have tried saving the original file to a better quality pdf file but it still looks "lossy". The newsletter contains both text and photographs. Any ideas on the best way to put this newsletter on to my site?

WebPlus X6: Error messages and crashing

Hi all
I've been using webplus x6 on windows 8 for a few months now and its been ok but every now and again it crashes just saying that its stopped responding. It was as one stage when trying to import assets but a patch was released and it fixed that. Now it crashes when I try and drag pages for instance into the quick build tab - and I've had a few error messages including 'encountered an improper arguement' - this happened when I did Alt 1 which I think is supposed to preview a page... Anyone got any ideas what might be wrong? Also, when this occurs the master pages get greyed out so I can't access them. Thanks

WebPlus X5: CMS Question?

Hi all,

I have a quick question about the Serif Web Resources CMS. I would like to add a CMS to my site and allow registered users on my SWR Access Control to post articles.

The only problem is that when I go to administer the CMS and change the editing group to the registered users it lets them administer everything on the CMS (e.g. Theme and categories), not just posting articles.

All I want the users to be able to do is post articles and not be able to change the CMS settings. Is there any way of doing this? Also is there any way to get rid of the Administer button at the bottom of the CMS as I would like to add my own custom button?

WebPlus X6: Blurry Slider

Hi there,

I am trying to create a slider, but instead of displaying photos within the slider, I am trying to display adverts.
It's for a charity event website that wishes to 'thank it's sponsors' by displaying each sponsor's details.

If I quickly run through what I have done -
I have created a 'advert' in pageplus and exported as a picture.
Then replaced the sample photo within the slider with my exported advert in webplus.

However, the advert images appears blurry.

I have tried to amend the DPI on export, and I have also increased the size of the image.

Is there anything else I can do, or can anyone suggest another way for me to accomplish this!

WebPlus X6: Navigation Bar, Panel

I am creating a mock site for a potential customer and had an extensive navigation bar built, then somehow it converted it to a panel and I cannot edit it anymore - do I need to create my nav bar all over again? Is there any way to shrink the navigation bar down as I need to keep as much page property as I can?

this is driving me crazy!!!! how can i fix it so that my site will "autofit" on any screen size without the need to scroll down? i believe it is referred to as "fluid"??
i know that webplus does not have this feature, but my site is finished and is rather complex, so i do not want to start all over in another software.
i have seen some hypertext "fixes" available on the net, but i do not have the savvy to apply this.
i would be willing to pay someone to fix this for me.
