If I use a form to make an email and submit it to Serif Web Resources, I can make autoreply text so the person filling the form in gets a reply in email.
But I can't do anything, it seems, to format the autoreply. Not even a line/paragraph break.
So instead, I want to have the email go to an address that itself generates an autoreply at the mail host. Which I've set up, and it works.
However, the email SWR sends doesn't appear to be properly setting the FROM or REPLY-TO part of the incoming email, which means the person filling the form in still won't get a "thanks, we'll get back to you" email.
I have to say that I'm guessing about what's causing this. I know that if I directly email the relevant address, I get the autoresponse, and if I fill in the form, everything else happens as it should -- the email gets sent and the form data is included in its body -- but the autoresponse I want to be sent doesn't happen.
I'm working round it -- I have created a landing page so the user gets a "we'll get back to you" message in the browser before being redirected to the home page, and that works okay too. But the people I've built the site for want the autoresponse email (which gives the user a valid email address they don't have to hand-enter, for one thing) and I've run out of ideas. Is there anything I can do -- or (if I'm right in my guess) anyone I can ask to reconfigure what the SWR service actually does in this respect? SM:HELP
