I have discovered a mystery with the popup-rollover images on this page.
I optimized all of the images to make the file sizes as small as possible, but when I published the site to disc, I found that the "over" (large) images in the disc file are much larger files - some almost twice as large - as the original image files.
Both the originals and the WP-published images are JPEGs, and I have the export options set to "Always use the original image file (never resample.)"
I'm completely baffled by this. It of course slows load time, and I can not imagine any logical reason why WP would purposely be designed to do such a thing...
Is this normal, or is there some sort of issue that needs to be resolved?
Any and all suggestions appreciated!
